President Jair Bolsonaro's government, through a National Energy Policy Council resolution on November 18, authorized imported raw materials for biodiesel production. The ANP may now permit imported feedstock in public auctions, and UBRABIO says the sector needs imported oil for the December bid.
Brazil's soyoil shortage, with 70% of biodiesel feedstock from soy oil, could be eased by imports of around 104,200 tons year to date, which would lower domestic soyoil prices until the harvest begins.
