Vietnam's Long An province is containing H5N1 bird flu in Tân Trụ District and African swine fever in Cần Đước District. Authorities culled 12,000 infected chickens and several pigs, with sterilisation and burial measures in place.
The province reported this as the second bird flu outbreak in the month.
Localised culling reduces regional poultry and pork demand for feed, a small effect on Vietnamese feed grain and meal demand given the limited scale.
