Nation’s farms fight dual virus outbreaks in birds and pigs

South Korea raised its bird flu alert to the highest 'serious' level after a highly pathogenic H5 strain was found at a duck farm in Jeongeup, the first outbreak among farmed poultry in 32 months. Authorities are culling about 392,000 birds at nearby farms and restricting traffic, with 2.61 million birds at 60 farms within 10 km.

African swine fever is also spreading in the country.
