EIA responded to the EU deforestation consultation, which drew a record 1.2 million submissions through the #Together4Forests campaign. The group is pushing for a new due-diligence law requiring companies to ensure products are not grown on recently deforested land.
Strong public backing increases the chance of an EU due-diligence law that could restrict deforestation-linked commodities. Any impact on feed ingredients like soy would depend on future legislation.
