World soybean oil exports fell to 325,000 tonnes in December 2020 from 593,000 a year earlier, mainly due to a 268,000-tonne drop from Argentina after strikes disrupted shipments. U.S. exports rose to 100,000 tonnes, and analysts expect Argentine shipments to recover in early 2021.
Lower Argentine soy oil exports tighten global supply and support soy oil prices, though expected Argentine recovery could ease pressure in coming months.
