Saudi Arabia's SAGO bought 660,000 tonnes of feed barley at US$277.65 per tonne cost and freight, booking 11 cargoes against an eight-cargo tender. Suppliers include Viterra, GrainCorp, CBH, Bunge, COFCO and Aston.
The price is about 20% above the November tender.
Strong Saudi demand and a 20% price lift reflect firm global feedgrain values, which supports barley prices and gives Australian supply a competitive edge.
