WWF commissioned Trase to produce a report, Stepping up, on the EU's continuing impact on nature, which received wide media coverage. The report helped maintain momentum after nearly 1.2 million citizens responded to the European Commission's consultation on EU deforestation measures.
The article says it contributed to a legislative proposal for an EU deforestation regulation.
EU deforestation rules could restrict imports of soy, palm oil, beef and other feed-linked commodities, adding compliance costs and potentially supporting prices for deforestation-free supplies.
