Vietnamese rice export prices have been topping those of Thailand, India and Pakistan, with 5% broken rice at $523 a ton on January 22. Vietnam is reducing rice-growing areas in climate-stressed regions, while mechanized milling cut post-harvest losses.
Reduced planted area in drought- and salt-affected zones may limit exportable supply, supporting Vietnamese quotes. Quality gains help hold premium prices.
