USDA data showed U.S. agricultural exports to China reached a record $26.4 billion in calendar 2020, or about $29 billion including related products. The total still falls short of the $36.5 billion China pledged under the phase one deal, and U.S. beef exports to China more than doubled.
Record Chinese farm imports support demand for U.S. grains and meat, but the shortfall versus the purchase pledge leaves room for disappointment in future buying.
