The dollar hit a fresh one-year high against the yen and held near multi-month peaks against other currencies on Wednesday. Traders cited expected US fiscal stimulus, accelerated vaccinations and a jump in US Treasury yields, with the dollar index holding above 93.
A firmer dollar and higher US yields tend to pressure dollar-priced agricultural commodities and can make import-dependent feed purchases in yen and other weak currencies more expensive.
