USDA's March 31 Grain Stocks and Planting Intentions report showed US on-farm soybean stocks down 41.3%, and corn prices have risen over 70% since August. Soybean prices are back in a profitable range, and buyers may need to import soybeans from South America this summer.
Tighter US soybean supplies lift corn and soybean costs, which pushes feed buyers toward amino acid additives such as lysine. Lysine prices are rising alongside the grains.
