China's agriculture ministry said rice, cassava, rice bran, barley and sorghum can replace corn in poultry feed. Rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal, peanut meal, sunflower meal, DDGS and other meals can replace soymeal.
The guidance formalizes broader ingredient substitution.
Wider use of alternative ingredients reduces China's reliance on corn and soymeal, which weighs on those prices. Demand for rapeseed, cottonseed and sunflower meals could rise as substitutes.
