The WTO agreed in May to review a trade dispute brought by Malaysia against the EU over rules excluding palm oil biofuel from renewable energy targets. Indonesia filed a similar complaint in 2020 that is also under review.
The dispute concerns EU biofuel rules that limit palm oil demand, so its outcome could shift palm oil export flows and prices.
