U.S. officials say Mexico is not meeting its USMCA commitments, citing the holding up of GM corn and glyphosate import permits. The National Farm Council said feed corn shows no sign of an exemption from the ban, contrary to recent comments by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
A possible trade dispute over the GM corn ban puts U.S. corn exports to Mexico at risk, which would be bearish for corn if the dispute escalates or the ban is enforced.
