Bangladesh's BCIC cancelled two tenders for 200,000 tonnes of urea as Middle East war disrupts supply from Gulf exporters through the Strait of Hormuz. The agency has opened an international tender and is considering supply from China, Egypt and Russia.
Importers rerouting urea demand to other origins increases competition for non-Gulf supply, supporting global nitrogen prices and raising input costs for feed grain producers.
