InfoSAWIT reports that smallholder palm oil replanting funds have been far too small to support Indonesia's biodiesel industry, with only 8% of 2015–2019 export levy spending going to smallholder rejuvenation. Most of the funds went to biodiesel incentives.
Heavy use of levy funds for biodiesel shows that domestic biodiesel demand absorbs palm oil supply. Weak replanting support could limit future palm output growth, which is mildly supportive for palm prices over time.
