US wheat futures rose more than 1% as supply concerns grew from production losses in key export regions. SovEcon cut its Russian wheat export forecast to a five-year low, partly due to a smaller harvest.
A weaker U.S. dollar and a storm in the Gulf of Mexico that pushed crude higher also contributed.
Lower Russian export availability removes supply from the world market, which supports global wheat prices and export competition for U.S. wheat.
