FAO, IUCN SSC and OIE warn of African swine fever impact on wildlife conservation

FAO, IUCN SSC and OIE issued a joint communiqué urging Asia-Pacific countries to strengthen policies against African swine fever, which has reached about 15 countries in the region. The virus has led to culling of hundreds of millions of domestic pigs since 2018 and spreads to wild pig populations, and no vaccine exists.
