The European Commission cut its soft wheat forecast slightly to 127.2 million tonnes from 127.7 million, while keeping its 2021/22 EU wheat export outlook at 30 million tonnes. Harvest rains and quality problems were reported across France, Germany and Poland, and a hot July hurt crops in the Nordics and Baltics.
Quality-damaged European wheat reduces the share eligible for export milling, while a maintained export outlook suggests supplies remain adequate, leaving prices supported but not sharply higher.
