Brazil's 2020/21 safrinha corn crop was hit by late planting, drought and frost, with Conab estimating output at 85.7 million tons, down 16.4%. Southern states must import about 14 million tons, and domestic corn prices have reached R$100 per sack.
Tight domestic Brazilian corn supplies and heavy southern import needs support corn prices and raise demand for corn exports from Argentina and other regions, which tightens feed grain availability.
