Dutch TTF gas contracts for November hit a record high near 118 euros per MWh, up almost 400% since the start of the year. Several UK energy suppliers have collapsed, and governments in several European countries have taken steps to limit consumer price impacts.
Record European gas prices raise the cost of nitrogen fertilizer production, pushing urea and ammonia higher. Higher energy costs also affect European feed and livestock production economics.
