Dollar falls on euro strength after ECB meeting as rates move

The euro rose nearly 0.7% to $1.168 and the dollar index fell 0.6% after comments from ECB President Christine Lagarde and moves in interest rate markets. The ECB kept policy unchanged and reaffirmed its bond-buying plan, while the Bank of Canada had made hawkish comments the day before.

重要性

A weaker dollar against the euro supports dollar-priced European demand for US commodities, but the move mainly reflects central bank rate expectations rather than a direct change in feed supply or demand.
