Wisconsin is accepting applications for meat processor grants of up to $50,000, with applications due January 14, 2022. The update also notes the Cattle on Feed report showed October 1 feedlot inventory at 11.6 million head, 1% below last year, and September placements 3% lower.
Smaller cattle on feed numbers point to tighter feedlot supplies and modestly reduced feed grain demand from the cattle sector.
