Hurricanes Ida and Nicholas damaged Gulf Coast grain infrastructure, with several Lower Mississippi elevators reopened and a Cargill facility possibly offline for months. Barge rates are rising as harvest proceeds, and soybean loadings from the Gulf were far below normal in mid-September.
