ING expects the US dollar to stay strong in 2022 as the Federal Reserve tightens faster and the euro and yen weaken. It forecasts EUR/USD reaching 1.10 and USD/JPY possibly reaching 120 during the year.
The outlook also expects commodity currencies to firm on terms-of-trade gains.
A persistently strong dollar tends to pressure dollar-denominated grain and oilseed prices while raising import costs for emerging-market feed buyers.
