Indian agricultural and processed food exports rose 22.1% to $15.03 billion in April-November 2021-22. Non-Basmati rice shipments grew 46.3% in value and 53.5% in volume, while Basmati shipments fell 22.7%.
November exports jumped 56% year on year.
Surging non-Basmati rice exports tighten global rice supplies and support prices. Weaker Basmati shipments reflect higher domestic Basmati prices, which limit export competitiveness.
