U.S. natural gas futures rose over 6% on Monday after forecasts pointed to colder weather and higher heating demand over the next two weeks. European gas prices also jumped about 8-10% amid fears of Russia invading Ukraine and cutting supplies.
Stronger heating demand and higher European prices support U.S. gas costs and keep export demand for U.S. LNG strong, which pressures domestic supply.
