Palm oil has become the most expensive vegetable oil, with its premium over rival oils at a record level. The Ukraine war has halted sunflower oil supplies.
Dealers say the price gap could push price-sensitive consumers in Asia and Africa to cut consumption or switch to soyoil.
Loss of sunflower oil exports from the Black Sea, combined with a record palm premium, pushes buyers toward soyoil and reduces vegetable oil demand, which is a key input for feed fat and meal markets.
