India's oilmeal exports fell 36% in volume to 23.73 lakh tonnes in FY22, and value dropped 37% to Rs 5,600 crore, mainly on lower soybean meal shipments. The Solvent Extractors' Association said Indian meal was priced above Brazilian and Argentine offers, leaving it uncompetitive.
Reduced Indian meal exports leave more global soymeal demand to Brazil and Argentina, which supports South American meal prices. Farmers' high seed price expectations also point to tight Indian crush supply.
