Bank of America economists say the US Dollar Index, currently at 20-year highs, is unlikely to peak yet. They cite persistent US policy divergence, high energy prices tied to the Ukraine crisis, and weak Chinese import demand.
A continued strong dollar would keep dollar-priced feed commodities under pressure and raise import costs for buyers outside the US. Energy-driven dollar strength also links currency moves to fertilizer and freight costs.
