The US dollar rebounded broadly on July 28 after initially falling when the Fed hiked 75 bps and dropped its commitment to forward guidance. The euro slumped as rising European gas and energy concerns weighed on the currency, with the euro at $1.0129.
A firmer dollar makes US grain and meal exports less competitive and tends to pressure dollar-denominated commodity prices. Weakness in the euro and yen adds to that pressure.
