Oil, metals and agricultural prices have fallen since early June as a surging US dollar, at its highest since 2002, makes dollar-priced commodities costlier abroad. Investors also fear a recession will cut demand.
A stronger dollar and recession-driven demand concerns point to weaker commodity prices, including energy that feeds into freight and fertilizer costs.
