A MAIZALL delegation visited Mexico August 13-18 to meet government and industry officials about the 2020 presidential decree banning GM corn for human consumption by 2024. The group also raised concerns about Mexico's lack of approvals for new GM corn events since May 2018.
Lack of GM event approvals and the decree threaten Mexico's 17 million tonne annual GM corn imports, a risk to US and South American corn export demand.
