India, the world's largest rice exporter, is considering restricting exports of 100% broken rice after rainfall shortages reduced paddy planted area. Government and industry officials told Reuters of the deliberations.
India supplies roughly 40% of global rice trade, so any curb on broken rice exports would tighten world supply and likely lift international rice prices.
