Morocco's Department of Financial Studies and Forecasts reported that phosphate and derivative exports passed 100 billion dirhams by the end of October 2022, up 63% year on year. The gain was driven largely by higher prices, while rock phosphate production fell about 16% through September.
Export values rising on price rather than volume signal tight phosphate supply and firm DAP and rock prices, which feed into fertilizer costs for grain and feed producers.
