Colorado's 2022 corn for grain crop was estimated at 118.58 million bushels, down 20% from 2021 and the lowest since 2002. Sorghum for grain fell 49% to 7.6 million bushels, and barley harvested area was the lowest since 1904.
The figures come from USDA's December 1 survey.
Colorado's sharp state-level shortfalls add to tighter regional feed grain supply, though the state's share of national output is small.
