India, the world's largest rice exporter, is considering removing some rice export curbs because domestic prices are stable. Government stockpiles are sufficient for welfare programs.
The curbs include a 20% duty on white and brown rice and a ban on broken rice sales.
Easing Indian export curbs would add supply to Asian rice markets and is likely to cool benchmark prices that are at their highest since mid-2021.
