Canola crush expansion in Western Canada is expected to add about three million tonnes of canola meal to the market, roughly doubling local meal production. Researchers are courting new feed demand in India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Southeast Asia to absorb the supply.
A larger export push for canola meal into Asia adds supply that could pressure canola meal prices unless new demand materializes, while also supporting canola crush economics.
