More than 200 importers, exporters, logistics firms and retailers urged the White House to intervene in West Coast port labor talks between the ILWU and the Pacific Maritime Association, which have run since May. The groups warned that the lack of a contract adds to supply chain stress.
A possible West Coast port strike would threaten US export shipments of grain, meal and feed ingredients, so rising strike risk could lift US export freight costs and widen basis.
