A Purdue University study with the United Soybean Board found no statistically significant link between soybean oil use in biofuels and retail food prices. Soybean oil use in biofuels has quadrupled over the past decade while retail prices stayed stagnant.
The finding supports continued biofuel demand for soyoil by weakening political arguments for limiting biofuel mandates, but it does not move near-term prices.
