The EU MARS Bulletin released 24 April 2023 forecasts wheat yields at 5.74 t/ha, above the five-year average of 5.59 t/ha, and barley at 4.92 t/ha, slightly above average. Spain and Portugal are expected to have below-average yields, while Ireland and much of northern Europe are near or above average.
Above-trend EU wheat and barley yields point to larger European grain supplies, which weighs on feed grain prices and reduces import demand for feed ingredients.
