OPEC+ in driver's seat as oil supply growth lags demand

Oil rose to about $85 a barrel after OPEC and allies announced cuts of about 1.16 million bpd. OPEC is pumping almost 1 million bpd below its output target, with shortfalls in Nigeria and Angola.

OPEC forecasts non-OPEC supply growth of 1.44 million bpd, short of expected demand growth of 2.32 million bpd.

Demand growth exceeding supply growth, combined with OPEC underproduction, supports a firmer crude market. This keeps energy and transport costs elevated for feed producers.
