USDA Drought Monitor data show 57% of the US corn crop and 51% of soybeans, plus 64% of sorghum and 50% of winter wheat, are now in drought. Worsening conditions in the Midwest, especially Iowa and Illinois, are affecting crop conditions.
Widening drought coverage over the Corn Belt raises the risk of yield losses, supporting corn, soybean and sorghum prices and feed costs.
