India's DGFT issued Trade Notice 09/2023 setting out the procedure for allocating wheat export quotas on humanitarian and food security grounds. Allocation is pro-rata based on past exports, with a 100 MT minimum by land to neighbouring countries.
The quota procedure formalises limited Indian wheat exports, a modest supply outflow that is small relative to tight domestic availability.
