USDA's June 9 WASDE showed U.S. corn and soybean 2022/23 and 2023/24 ending stocks above last month, and wheat 2023/24 stocks at 562 million bushels, slightly below the trade's expectation. Global soybean and wheat stocks for 2023/24 were also revised higher versus May.
The report compares each figure with Reuters-polled market expectations.
Corn and soybean stock increases above expectations point to looser supplies and softer prices, while the small wheat miss adds little support. Overall the surprises are modest.
