A Vietnamese outlook says the USD/VND rate may stay within 2% of its start-of-2023 level in the second half of the year. The dollar index rose about 1.1% from a one-year low to 101.04, and the central bank raised its selling rate for the dollar.
The forecast of stable dong rates suggests little pressure on Vietnamese feed import costs, though a firmer dollar index could lift them slightly.
