The euro weakened against the dollar after the ECB signalled it would make data-dependent decisions without forward guidance. Gold fell below $1,950 an ounce to a two-week low, and August futures were down 1.27% on the day.
The ECB had just raised its key rates.
A firmer dollar tends to pressure dollar-priced commodities, including precious metals and some agricultural products. The direct effect on feed grains and meals is limited.
