China is reported to have suffered its worst weather disruption in a decade, harming wheat harvests and affecting pig and fish farming. Analysts expect China may need to import more wheat, benefiting Canadian suppliers.
Lower Chinese wheat output and higher import needs could tighten global wheat supplies and support prices, while feed grain demand is also affected via livestock disruption.
