The Bank of England left interest rates unchanged on September 21, breaking a long run of rate rises as the UK economy slowed. The pound fell as much as 0.9% to its lowest since late March, while UK gilts briefly recovered before resuming their decline.
A stronger dollar against sterling and the euro tends to weigh on dollar-denominated feed ingredient prices for UK and European buyers, and it can make US-origin feed imports relatively more expensive for them.
