Egypt has suspended tariffs on imported poultry, which will make Brazilian whole chickens more competitive, according to ABPA president Ricardo Santin. The move is meant to offset supply shortfalls caused by bird flu and higher production costs in Egypt.
Expanded Brazilian chicken exports to Egypt support Brazilian poultry output and feed demand for corn and soymeal. The effect on global feed prices is modest.
